20 Year Reunion
Horseback Ride

Friday, August 3, 2001 – Yaaaahoooo!!!

The EHS Class of 1981 reunion fun continued again Friday morning with a horseback ride courtesy of classmate Leo Radandt and his dad Jerry Radandt.  The classmate cowboys and cowgirls were Leo Radandt (his girlfriend and daughter), Gerald Lambert, Shelley Bright (her man Karl and daughter Janell), Soron and Kathy Root, Katrina Bryant  Martin, Bill Fackler (his fiancé), Tammy Baughman Mecham, and Jim Pulley. We started out in the morning getting saddled up and fitted for the upcoming ride.  Once we all knew where we were and what we were doing we loaded up the horses and headed for Squaw Butte.  We started at the base of Squaw Butte and road over on the foothills near the Little Butte.  It was a fun ride with everyone riding tall in the saddle, with smiles on their faces and some had beers in their hands.  Katrina’s horse started acting up a little when some “wild ponies” came running up and joining our party uninvited.  Soron was riding one of Shelley’s horses (Shelley and her daughter doubled up) and traded Katrina.  Soron then showed he is still pretty spunky and let that animal go.  He took off up the hill and we thought he was gone… then just as quick as he was gone here he came back hell bent for leather again.  After that the horse knew who was boss and Soron had an easy go.  Shelley’s horse started to act up again and we saw her skills come out as we saw her take her horse off on her own.  Her daughter doubled up with Gerald for a while.  The excitement wasn’t over, Leo’s girlfriend’s daughter took a tumble on her horse, she didn’t get hurt but did ride in the pickup back the other way.  Leo’s dad kept following us for a while making sure we had plenty of refreshments… uh that is if you liked beer… if not you were SOL!  The ride last right at about 2 hours and the sun was starting to climb so we called it a day.  Everyone had a great time, we took lots of pictures and we put the horseback ride into our history books.  Look for pictures on the website as you continue looking through the events and festivities.
