Friday Night Get together
Swing Scene restaurant
in Emmett

Friday Night - August 3rd, 2001

On Friday night, we officially kicked off our reunion with a get together at the Swing Scene restaurant in Emmett.  For those of you who haven't been back to Emmett in years, this is on the highway coming into Emmett off Freezeout.  It is a restaurant, golf driving range, has a putt-putt course and a banquet room which we rented and had finger foods and refreshments.  We started out with only 50 or so people signed up but had over 70 come so it turned out very well.

We had a great time getting re-aquainted with friends and classmates.  It had been 10 years since our last big reunion and everyone looked real good.  The years have been kind to us all.  Jack Stokes came up from Las Vegas and said a few words as well as Soron Root, Shelley Bright, and Keith Butler.  Keith was pretty funny as he was pretty sure the only reason he was class Treasurer was because he knew how to buy a keg of beer back in High School.

We started at 7:30pm and stayed talking and catching up till almost 11:30pm.  Many went home awaiting the next day but some of us die hards went to old Timbers for a night cap (or should I say "caps").  We all must  be growing up because there were not fights or brawls.  All in all we started off the reunion with a lot of fun.
